There are moments in ministry that remind us why we go—to share the love of Jesus, to bring hope, and to witness firsthand the hunger of people for the truth of the Gospel. Our recent mission trip to Mindoro was one of those moments.

On February 20, our team—students from Calvary Bible Institute Luzon, joined by our Director Pastor Tony and some of the faithful from Calvary Chapel Tagaytay—set out for Oriental Mindoro. We arrived in Calapan and were warmly welcomed by our ministry partner, Pastor Rex, who guided us to Socorro, the site of our first Jesus Film showing.
Despite the rain gently pouring throughout the evening, nothing could stop the people from coming. People gathered, children huddled together, eyes wide with wonder as the life of Jesus unfolded on the screen. The atmosphere was filled with quiet reverence—and expectation. That night, the message of salvation reached hearts. Seeds were planted. Some gave their lives to Jesus.

The next morning, February 21, we journeyed early to Puerto Galera. There, we met the Daytec family—another precious partner in the work—who led us deep into the hills to a Mangyan church community. There, under simple surroundings but with wide-open hearts, we showed the film once again. It was a humbling sight to witness the Mangyan people, some hearing the Gospel story for the very first time, watch with such eagerness. Even here, in the middle of the mountains, Jesus was being lifted up.

In total, over 120 people attended the showings across both locations. But numbers were not our goal. What moved us most was the visible thirst for the truth. So many came, not just to see a movie, but to encounter the living God—and many did.

On February 22, as we made our way back to Tagaytay, our hearts were full. Tired, yes. But more than anything, we were grateful. Grateful for the open doors, the faithful partners, the new brothers and sisters in Christ, and for the privilege of being part of God’s work.

We ask you to continue praying for the people of Mindoro—that the seeds sown would grow into lasting faith. And may we, as the church, keep going to the places God calls us—rain or shine.
To God be the glory!
